Smartphone Apps Next Step in Continuous Improvement of Flow & Throughput

SmartPhone Apps

NHRMC is working to improve patient flow with the introduction of smartphone capabilities. On Tuesday November 13, the Patient Transport Department and the Environmental Services Department will begin using Voalte and Epic Rover. These smartphone apps will allow members of these departments to view requests on their iPhones, saving time and improving patient experience and overall workflow. This includes patient transfers and room/bed cleaning requests. Before the change a desktop computer login was required to view such requests.

Nursing workflow will not be impacted other than nursing staff will now see EVS staff logged into their home unit and may receive text messages from Patient Transport and Environmental Services.

The command center will be open Tuesday, November 13 – Friday, November 16 to assist team members with the introduction of this new initiative. Call 910.667.6400 for assistance.
