Tropical Storm Michael; No Closures or Cancellations Planned

Update for Thursday, October 11:

NHRMC is open under normal clinical and business operations today as we expect rains and winds from Tropical Storm Michael today.

Based on the latest information from the National Weather Service, Tropical Storm Michael is continuing to weaken as it moves through the Carolinas. We remain under a Tropical Storm Warning. Here are the key points for today:

  • Tropical storm force winds are expected to begin just before noon today, and diminish throughout the night
  • Rain will continue today and decrease tonight with about 1 – 3 inches expected
  • Tornadoes are possible today with the threat decreasing throughout the day

NHRMC Emergency Management is in the Command Center for Surge Capacity and will continue to monitor the storm. New Hanover County Emergency Management opened a partial Emergency Operations Center this morning and will be available throughout the day.

Movie this afternoon:

"Black Panther" will be shown in theNHRMC Auditorium at 4:15 p.m. today for any staff who are voluntarily staying over from day shift or coming in early for night shift.
