With the positive response we had from the hundreds of NHRMC staff who came in to support our storm team, we’re deploying resources throughout the facility. We’re still assessing how to get key areas fully staffed to relieve storm teams. We understand how difficult it is to remain here and are trying every means possible to get staff in. We appreciate everyone's patience, perseverance, and positive attitude throughout this process
Decisions about when storm staff team members can go home will be dependent on the arrival of additional resources and will be announced later today.
We also know that many will find their homes without power and/or damaged. Rest assured, we will be here for you to help you through.
In New Hanover County, the weather is clearing, giving crews a chance to get out and clear more roads. Much of the flooding is receding in town, but many roads are still blocked. In the region, most of the major roads into Wilmington are still flooded and impassable.
The NC DOT website provides information on road closures. You can also see some specific problem areas using Google Maps.
We have brought in teams of contractors to help get our facilities back to normal. You should start seeing improvements rapidly as all pull together to clean up debris and water.
