The 10th Annual Sunny 103.7 Caring for Kids Radiothon has raised $37,542 for the New Hanover Regional Medical Center Foundation's Caring for Kids Fund. The two-day fundraising event occurred August 22-23 and was broadcast live from the lobby of the NHRMC Betty H. Cameron Women’s & Children’s Hospital.
The Caring for Kids Fund provides financial assistance to qualified families of hospitalized pediatric and neonatal patients.
Donations help provide an essential balance for families who don’t otherwise have the means to carry the financial burden of caring for a hospitalized child. Caring for Kids funds can help cover the cost of transportation, purchase vital medications, or buy the necessities needed to care for their child or safely discharge them home.
The NHRMC Foundation would like to thank everyone who was involved in the event this year including the staff of Sunny 103.7, event sponsors, NHRMC employees, patients and their families who told their stories, and everyone who generously donated.
"The money raised during this year's Radiothon will make a difference in the lives of so many children and their families," said Kristal McHugh, Director of Development for the NHRMC Foundation.
