NHRMC is building its eighth Habitat House this spring, and the groundbreaking is scheduled for April 14. NHRMC employees volunteer to perform the work on the house under the guidance of the experts at Cape Fear Habitat for Humanity.

This year’s recipient is Melissa Feaster, a Patient Care Technician on the Progressive Care Stroke Unit. Melissa has worked at NHRMC about seven years and has put in the sweat equity at Habitat to qualify to become a homeowner.

Melissa has two teenage daughters with college aspirations, and she looks forward to owning a home in a neighborhood with easy access to a beautiful park and pond.

This week, NHRMC managers will let their teams know if they have a specific date to volunteer. They will instruct those employees on how to register for those team-building sessions. Individual employees (and family members) will be able to sign up next week for any available date.

The Habitat House is just one of many opportunities for NHRMC employees to volunteer to help our community. Find out more at the Mission Corps Yammer page.
