House of Raeford Farms FLOCK has donated $25,000 to the New Hanover Regional Medical Center Foundation to support the needs of patients and families at the NHRMC Betty H. Cameron Women’s and Children’s Hospital.
This past weekend Wilmington hosted the annual Carolinas Classic, an all-star basketball game featuring the best high school seniors of North Carolina against the best from South Carolina. House of Raeford Farms, through the company’s non-profit arm, House of Raeford Farms FLOCK, sponsored the event. All revenue from ticket sales was included in the donation, which will benefit the Caring for Kids fund helping pediatric patients and their families overcome some of the financial hurdles they face during a hospitalization.
“It is our honor to have been selected by House of Raeford Farms FLOCK to be the beneficiary of the proceeds from the annual Carolinas Classic basketball tournament,” said Schorr Davis, NHRMC Vice President of Development/Foundation Executive Director. “Their generous gift of $25,000 is a testament to their commitment to our community and to the health of our children and their families. We thank House of Raeford for bringing this tournament to Wilmington and for the impact they will make with this donation.”
“It’s important to us to not only sponsor an event in which people are brought together to celebrate the accomplishments of these young athletes, but to also contribute any funds raised back into the community,” said Bob Johnson, owner and chief executive officer at House of Raeford.
Players from the teams also visited the NHRMC Rehabilitation Hospital and the Betty H. Cameron Women’s and Children’s Hospital.
