Radiothon Raises $50,375 for Cleft Palate Program at NHRMC

November 04, 2015

With a $5,000 gift from the New Hanover Regional Medical Center Auxiliary, the NHRMC Foundation has exceeded its fundraising goal of $50,000 for the 2015 Sunny 104.5 Caring for Kids at NHRMC Radiothon. Money raised is going to support the work of the Cleft Lip and Palate Team at NHRMC.

The team, led by Michael Jaskolka, MD, will use the funds to purchase a 3dMD imaging system to help with the diagnosis and treatment of maxillofacial conditions. The NHRMC Cleft Lip and Palate Team consists of about 20 providers who see about three to four patients a month. The team's mission is to provide multi-specialty care for patients and their families from birth to adulthood.

This was another record-breaking year, thanks to the hard work of Sunny 104.5, NHRMC Foundation, physicians and staff at Betty H. Cameron Women's & Children's Hospital, and the Radiothon sponsors Bill Clark Homes, Two Men and a Truck, Coastal Children's Services, Perry's Emporium, and O'Brien Service Company. Radiothon exceeded the $50,000 mark last year and in total, the event has raised more than $255,000 to purchase equipment that directly benefits pediatric patients at NHRMC.
