WILMINGTON, NC – NHRMC Physician Group is pleased to announce that Imelda N. Odibo, MD, has joined the Atlantic Fetal Medicine practice. Dr. Odibo is fellowship trained in maternal-fetal medicine and is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology.
Atlantic Fetal Medicine is a new NHRMC Physician Group practice located at 2150 Shipyard Blvd. The practice offers a variety of services for women who are at high risk of complications during pregnancy.
Dr. Odibo graduated from the University of Lagos in Lagos, Nigeria, where she received a bachelor’s degree in zoology. She taught high school biology in Newark public schools in New Jersey for six years. Dr. Odibo then received a doctoral degree in medicine from Meharry Medical College in Nashville, TN, and completed her residency at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in Newark. She received her fellowship training at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock, AR.
She is a member of the Society of Maternal-Fetal Medicine, American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.
Outside of the office, Dr. Odibo participates in medical mission trips to her home country of Nigeria and has research interests in global health initiatives, hypertension, hydramnios and diabetes. She is also an accomplished author with several publications in peer reviewed journals.
