Lisa Mantooth, RN
1 West/Swing Manager position
Lisa Mantooth has been named Manager of Pender Memorial Hospital’s 25 Acute Care and Swing Bed Unit. Mantooth has more than 20 years nursing experience, and was most recently a Nurse Manager on the 10th floor at New Hanover Regional Medical Center. She previously served as Administrative Coordinator, Clinical Coordinator and has more than 16 years of experience as a staff nurse in Oncology. She started at PMH as Interim 1 West Manager five weeks ago, and has recently accepted the full time Manager position for 1 West.
Mantooth oversees the 25 bed Acute Care Services and Swing Bed Unit that make up the facilities of 1 West. Medical, surgical and telemetry patients are cared for in the Acute Care Services, while short-term rehabilitation patients will be in the Swing Bed Unit.
Amy Hewett, RNCIII
Coordinator of Infection Control and Employee Health
Amy Hewett has accepted the position as Coordinator of Infection Control and Employee Health starting June 22, 2015. She’s worked for NHRMC for 16 years, beginning as a Nephrology RN and then moving on to the Coordinator of Nephrology. Hewett furthered her career as a dialysis nurse, and after 12 years went from Nephrology/Dialysis to the Employee Health and Clinic.
Hewett will be performing multiple duties such as collection and analysis of infection data, prevention and control strategies, changes required by regulatory and licensing and many more. Hewett will also regulate all employee immunizations and health records in line with Centers for Disease Control and Prevention standards, and oversee the yearly mandatory flu shots and Health Risk Assessments. Her patients are going to include a wide array of individuals as an educator of infection hazards to keep staff members and patients aware and safe.
