The contributions of several hundred volunteers will be celebrated during a special breakfast event Wednesday, April 15. New Hanover Regional Medical Center is hosting its annual Volunteer Appreciation Breakfast at the Terraces on Sir Tyler, 126 Sir Tyler Drive, between 9 and 11 a.m.
“Volunteers help patients, families and staff members in so many ways,” said Eileen McConville, Director of Volunteer Services. “This is our chance to recognize their efforts with a fun and meaningful event.”
To enable all volunteers to attend the breakfast, leaders throughout NHRMC will fill the volunteer shifts back at the hospital. Among other duties, they will be staffing welcome desks, helping with patient discharges, delivering flowers, and driving the shuttle carts that help patients and visitors get from the parking lot to the front door.
New Hanover Regional Medical Center has 791 active volunteers. Last year they contributed 156,541 hours.
