WILMINGTON – The Endoscopy Center of Hanover Gastroenterology – NHRMC Physician Group is pleased to announce their recently earned three-year accreditation from the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC), a distinction that is recognized as a symbol of quality by third-party payers, medical organizations, liability insurance companies, state and federal agencies and the public.
AAAHC serves as an advocate for the provision of high-quality healthcare through the development of nationally recognized standards and through its survey and accreditation programs. Ambulatory healthcare organizations seeking accreditation by AAAHC undergo an extensive self-assessment and on-site survey by a panel of physicians, nurses and administrators who are actively involved in ambulatory health care. The Endoscopy Center of Hanover Gastroenterology, located at 1415 Medical Center Drive in Wilmington, applied for re-accreditation from the organization after it joined the NHRMC Physician Group in 2012. Practices are required to re-apply following any changes in the practice name.

AAAHC accreditation is an essential benchmark for endoscopy centers, as many insurance payers, including Medicare, require endoscopy centers to earn this accreditation before covering their services. Federal or state employees of Blue Cross Blue Shield are also covered at the center.
