Commitment to Care and the Community

New Hanover Regional Medical Center’s role in the community goes beyond taking care of those who walk through its doors. As the region’s largest provider of health care, the hospital not only takes care of all, regardless of ability to pay, but leads efforts to improve health throughout the region, often in the form of preventive services offered at no charge. The hospital is also the area’s largest employer and significantly affects the economy of the area and the livelihoods of thousands of people who make this region home.

New Hanover Regional Medical Center’s commitment to care and the community is evident in its quality, depth of services, and the financial stability that has preserved jobs in unstable times. This pivotal role is made possible through the work of a volunteer board of trustees, staff, volunteers, and physicians.
