WILMINGTON – Residents in Pender County will soon have access to two new primary care physicians in their community. Pender Primary Care, part of the NHRMC Physician Group, is opening two new practices. Christi Ray, D.O., will begin seeing patients at the Pender Primary Care—Rocky Point location in early December and Pamela Smith, M.D., will begin seeing patients at the Pender Primary Care—Burgaw location in January.
Dr. Ray specializes in family medicine with years of experience caring for children and adults. She has most recently been caring for a full scope of family medicine patients at a practice in New York and is board-certified by the American Academy of Family Practice. Her practice, located at 7910 U.S. Highway 117 South, Suite 120 in Rocky Point, is currently accepting appointments for its opening in December.
With more than 20 years of experience in adult and geriatric internal medicine, Dr. Smith will begin seeing patients in January 2011. Pender Primary Care—Burgaw will be located at 306 S. Campbell Street and is currently accepting appointments for Dr. Smith’s arrival. Dr. Smith comes to Pender County from a non-profit health system in Virginia where she served as medical director. She is board-certified in internal medicine and specializes in patients 12 years of age and older.
