WILMINGTON – New Hanover Regional Medical Center Health & Diagnostics-Brunswick Forest has been awarded a three-year term of accreditation in digital mammography as the result of a recent survey by the American College of Radiology (ACR). This designation means the facility has met the ACR's standards of outstanding practice.
The ACR, headquartered in Reston, Virginia, awards accreditation to facilities for the achievement of high practice standards after a peer-review evaluation. Evaluations are conducted by board-certified physicians and medical physicists who are experts in the field. They assess the qualifications of the personnel and the adequacy of facility equipment. The surveyors report their findings to the ACR’s Committee of Accreditation.
“We are very proud to be recognized by the American College of Radiology,” says Greg Firestone, Director of Radiology at New Hanover Regional Medical Center. “This achievement reflects our commitment to providing the highest level of care to our community.”
New Hanover Regional Medical Center Health & Diagnostics-Brunswick Forest is located at 1333 S. Dickinson Drive and is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. In addition to digital mammography, the site offers bone densitometry, ultrasound, CAT scan, MRI and X-ray services.
