WILMINGTON – New Hanover Regional Medical Center and Southeastern Area Health Education Center (SEAHEC) are celebrating the graduation of 23 residents and two preliminary year residents from five specialty programs at NHRMC. The ceremony takes place on Friday, June 18 at noon at the Scottish Rite Temple, 1415 South 17th Street.
The graduates have completed residencies in Family Medicine, General Surgery, Internal Medicine, Obstetrics/Gynecology and Pharmacy. The residency programs are rigorous teaching programs in which doctors learn hands-on skills in their chosen specialty. Many of the residency graduates since the program’s inception have stayed in the Wilmington area and practice medicine in southeastern North Carolina.
Congratulations to the following graduates in the field of Family Medicine: Adrienne Fehr, DO, Jadene Lowry, MD, and Beena Patel, DO. In General Surgery, congratulations to Borden Hooks, MD, Stanton Smith, MD, and Damon Sheneman, DO. In the field of Internal Medicine, we congratulate Annemarie Armani, MD, Tej Atluri, MD, Ann Austin, DO, Brittany Bohinc, MD, Megan Engelen, DO, Mitra Hanjani, MD, Jeetpaul Saran, MD, and preliminary year graduates Michael Davis, MD, and Jeffrey Kuremsky, MD. In Obstetrics/Gynecology, the graduates are Sura Edmond, MD, Margaret McElroy, DO, Justine Somoza, MD, and Richard Lee Toler, DO. The graduating Pharmacy residents are Frances Gravely, PharmD, Patrick Huffman, PharmD, Blake King, PharmD, Sonia Patel, PharmD, Katie Stabi, PharmD, and Laurie Whalin, PharmD.
