WILMINGTON –Residents of Brunswick County came out in large numbers to learn about a new local health care option at the New Hanover Regional Medical Center Health & Diagnostics-Brunswick Forest open house celebration on Saturday, April 24. More than 575 people toured the new facility and met with physicians and staff while enjoying music, food and entertainment.
“More than 50% of Brunswick County residents choose to come to NHRMC for their health care needs,” says NHRMC Vice President of Strategic Planning/Business Development John Gizdic. “Our location in The Villages at Brunswick Forest gives us the opportunity to make that care more convenient for our patients.”
At 40,000 square feet, New Hanover Regional Medical Center Health & Diagnostics – Brunswick Forest will offer residents of Brunswick County easier access to the comprehensive, high quality services of New Hanover Regional Medical Center much closer to home, including primary care and specialty physicians, as well as laboratory, imaging and diagnostic services, and convenient care services.
New Hanover Regional Medical Center Health & Diagnostics-Brunswick Forest will offer diagnostic and imaging services including MRI, CT scans, digital mammography, ultrasound, bone density scans and X-rays. All diagnostic images will continue to be read by Delaney Radiology, one of Southeastern North Carolina’s most trusted radiology groups and a longtime NHRMC healthcare partner.
The Brunswick Forest location includes two primary care practices: Alan Morgan, MD, of Morgan Internal Medicine-NHRMC Physician Group, and Gloria Vreeland, MD, and Angela Stanley, NP, of Wilmington Health Associates’ family medicine practice.
In addition to primary care physicians, the Brunswick Forest location has specialists in urology from the NHRMC Physician Group. Dr. Roc McCarthy, DO, of Urology Comprehensive Services and Dr. Robert Bennett, MD, will both have offices at the new facility.
Physicians from Atlantic Orthopedics will also be seeing patients at the Brunswick Forest location. They include Shawn Hocker, MD, Ryan Putnam, MD, Murray Seidel, MD, and David Shaw, PA-C.
Patients can also see specialists in cardiology, dermatology, gastroenterology, neurology, sleep medicine, pediatrics and urology from Wilmington Health Associates at the Brunswick facility.
Office hours for all primary care physicians and specialists will be 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Convenient care will also be offered by Wilmington Health Associates from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
