Betty H. Cameron Women’s and Children’s Hospital Celebrates One-Year Anniversary

September 16, 2009

After years of planning, multiple detailed architectural renderings and nearly around-the-clock construction, the Betty H. Cameron Women’s and Children’s Hospital opened its doors to patients one year ago today.

More was born that day than just a new 150-bed, 195,000-square-foot facility, however; in truth, the opening of the women’s and children’s hospital introduced to the region a whole new model of patient and family care - family-centered care - that has since redefined the way new members of our community enter this world and how these new members are embraced by family and loved-ones.

Today we congratulate everyone - donors, administrators, physicians, nurses, staff and employees - for a job well done on taking the vision of the Betty H. Cameron Women’s and Children’s Hospital and turning it into reality. Thank you for the commitment you show, the time you spend and the smile you share in making our patients’ stays the most healing, the most supportive and the most extraordinary they can be.

Happy anniversary on this very special day, and congratulations on a job well done!
