WILMINGTON – The New Hanover Regional Medical Center Foundation has received a $100,000 gift from First Citizens Bank in support of the “Our Health, Our Hospital, Our Future” campaign. The gift will assist the NHRMC Foundation’s fundraising efforts to support the Betty H. Cameron Women’s & Children’s Hospital.

“First Citizens Bank is pleased to be able to make this contribution to the New Hanover Regional Medical Center Foundation,” said Rob Norris, First Citizens Bank Area Executive for New Hanover, Brunswick and Pender Counties. “We believe quality health care is paramount to the growth of the community. Anything we can do to assist the growth of the medical center and the growth of health care in the region is a benefit to the citizens of our community.”

First Citizens Bank has had a long standing relationship with the NHRMC Foundation, including serving as presenting sponsor for the past 15 years of the Coastal Classic Celebrity Golf Tournament, which has raised more than $2 million for projects that help provide the excellence in quality care at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

Aline Lasseter, Executive Director of the NHRMC Foundation, is grateful to First Citizens Bank for its continued support of the medical center.

“First Citizens Bank has been a long time supporter of the hospital and this gift is truly meaningful to help us realize our vision of providing the very best care to the patients in our community,” said Lasseter.

The NHRMC Foundation has launched a capital campaign entitled "Our Health, Our Hospital, Our Future", designed to support the vision of the medical center as it responds to the growing health care needs of the community. To date, the NHRMC Foundation has realized $4.8 million in support towards its campaign goal of $7 million, including gifts from the NHRMC Board of Trustees, Foundation Board of Directors, NHRMC Auxiliary, employees and community leaders.
