For patients who are receiving ongoing care, NHRMC Heart Center – Outpatient Services provides a beautiful and technologically advanced place to see their cardiologist, monitor their condition and participate in rehabilitation and educational programs designed just for cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation patients.

Cape Fear Heart Associates – NHRMC Physician Group
Cape Fear Heart Associates - NHRMC Physician Group is Wilmington, NC’s largest cardiology practice. Patients receive care from board-certified cardiologists and advanced care practictioners specializing in comprehensive cardiovascular care. The first floor of the building has 48 exam rooms, a spacious and comfortable lobby, and a conference room to host heart health seminars.
Special Testing, Lab and Device Clinic
The second floor welcomes patients of Cape Fear Heart Associates for special testing, including holter monitoring to check the heart’s rhythm, and enhanced external counterpulsation (EECP) treatments to help relieve angina and heart failure. Patients can have their defibrillators and pacemakers checked at the CFHA Device Clinic, and those on blood thinners are monitored at the Coumadin Clinic. A dedicated lab is available for onsite testing.
Cardiac Imaging & Diagnostic Services
New Hanover Regional Medical Center Heart Center offers outpatient cardiac imaging and diagnostic services that help diagnose heart disease and irregular functioning of the heart. Tests include treadmill and nuclear stress tests, echocardiography, and carotid ultrasound.
Cardiac Rehabilitation and Pulmonary Rehabilitation
New Hanover Regional Medical Center’s Marlene Sigler Cardiac Rehabilitation Program and the Janice H. Brown Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program are on the third floor. The large, open workout space is encircled by a walking track and provides ample room for more than 54,000 patient visits each year. The highly-credentialed clinical staff provides the expert care and training patients need as they recover from their conditions in a safe and monitored environment.
Both of NHRMC’s rehabilitation programs have been nationally certified by the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation since 1999. The designation means the programs have been recognized as leaders in the field for superior standards of quality cardiac and pulmonary care.
