Pender Hospital "Critical Needs" Campaign

Pender Memorial Hospital embarked on a “Critical Needs” Campaign in May of 2012 to upgrade its diagnostic technology and renovate the hospital to improve both the flow of how care is delivered and the comfort of patients and families. Specifically, a new 16-Slice CAT Scan was purchased and the Emergency department was re-designed and renovated along with a new front lobby and other important ancillary departments. The Campaign committee reached its goal of $500,000 successfully! A BIG thank you to our Pender County supporters.

NHRMC Mourns Loss of Marlene Sigler, Foundation Establishes Endowment Fund

Marlene Sigler, one of NHRMC's most beloved team members passed away on July 17, after a courageous battle against multiple myeloma. Those who were fortunate enough to know her were touched by her warm heart and caring spirit .Marlene began working at NHRMC in 1991 as a staff nurse in the cardiac telemetry unit. She went on to help build the cardiac rehab program. Her dedication to her patients and enthusiasm for helping them to manage their health laid the foundation for the highly successful program.

Her passion for helping people led her to join the board of the NHRMC Foundation. She was part of the team that started the Red Dress Project to raise awareness heart disease in women.

Donations in Marlene's memory may be through the NHRMC Foundation to the Marlene Sigler Cardiac Rehab Memorial Fund (Select Cardiac Rehab Fund in the drop box). Click here to make your donation online or contact the foundation at (910) 815-5002.
