Robotic Surgery - Robotic Surgery at  the Surgical Pavilion of New Hanover Regional Medical Center is an advanced minimally invasive procedure allowing surgeons greater precision and enhancing patient outcome.  Robotic surgery is used in the areas of urologic procedures such as prostate surgery and in gynecological procedures.  For more information on Robotic Surgery at nhmrc, visit the Robotics page.

Code Stemi  - How NHRMC emergency and heart teams are working together to cut the time a person is identified as having a heart attack into life-saving surgery to open their arteries. NHRMC's "door-to-balloon time" is better than the national average.

Thumb Arthritis:  Ligament Reconstruction and Tendon Interposition (LRTI) - LRTI at New Hanover Regional Medical Center is providing long-term relief to thumb arthritis sufferers.  

Gastric Bypass:  A bariatric surgical procedure at New Hanover Regional Medical Center that makes the stomach smaller, resulting in weight loss.

Zimmer Cancer Center  - How the services of the Zimmer Cancer Center are integrated to bring people with cancer the best in detection, treatment and counseling.

MRI - MRIs are now being used in some cases to scan for breast cancer.

NHRMC Surgical Pavilion -  The Surgical Pavilion is a 186,500 square foot building located in the back of New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

RACE -  With a mission to help ensure all heart attack patients - especially those in outlying areas - transported to New Hanover Regional Medical Center's Cardiac Catheterization Lab have access to the region's fastest, most effective cardiac care, NHRMC has begun taking part in a statewide program called RACE, or Reperfusion of Acute Myocardial Infarctions in Carolina Emergency departments.

  • Vein Viewer -  Vein Viewer technology at New Hanover Regional Medical Centers Betty H. Cameron Women's and Children's Center helps nurses find difficult to locate veins for easier blood draws.
