NHRMC and Pender Memorial Hospital employees play an important role in ensuring a successful transition from ICD-9 to ICD-10. Our physicians also play an important role in this initiative, and it will be extremely important for our Medical Staff to document to the appropriate level of specificity in order to capture the accurate ICD-10 codes.

Because successful implementation will require a team effort, it is important for you to familiarize yourselves with ICD-10, its impact and timing.

You are encouraged to use the informational links provided below to help you and your staff understand available education opportunities being offered for ICD-10.

Education and Training Information

The ICD-10 Project Team will continue to support you through a structured communications and awareness campaign along with providing greater details about training requirements, within the appropriate timeframes.

All those determined to be impacted by ICD-10 will be automatically signed up for mandatory online ICD-10 education.

All NHRMC Management, Director and Staff education needs to be completed in April, prior to implementation of the Clinical Upgrade on April 18.

For Pender Memorial Hospital, Management, Director and Staff education needs to be completed in April - prior to Epic implementation - by April 30.
