From a planning perspective, the transition from ICD-9 to ICD-10 coding systems is already well underway at NHRMC. Steering committee meetings have been on-going for several months and smaller operational teams, or work groups, are building the various tasks that must be accomplished for this transition to take place.
Similar to last year's Epic go-live, the ICD-10 go-live will require the activation of various operational mechanisms and safeguards, including activation of the NHRMC Command Center. On Oct. 1, the entire organization's attention will be focused on providing a smooth transition to the new ICD-10 coding system to further optimize patient care.
More information on the ICD-10 go-live will be forthcoming. Please check back here for regular updates.
