Internet access within network to require password

In an attempt to increase network security, increase Employee efficiency, and to protect Patient Health Information, you will see changes in the way employees and medical staff access the Internet from the New Hanover Regional Medical Center (NHRMC) data network.

Beginning March 20, 2007, when you access Internet web sites from the NHRMC data network you will be required to enter a username and password.

Your confidential username and password is listed below:

Username: Same as for Portal Remote Access

Password: Same as for Portal Remote access

* EXCEPTION: If you currently login to NHRMC PCs with your own username and password this will remain the same. Web sites local to NHRMC, such as Capsules Live, Lawson, Portal and PACS will not be affected.

Important Note: Please close all instances of the Internet browser when you are finished accessing Internet web sites so your username is not used by others who might access that workstation.

All Internet access will be monitored, logged and randomly audited.

If you have any questions or difficulty accessing the Internet, please call the Medical Center Help Desk at 343.7855.
