Grateful Family Happy to be Celebrating Milestones

My name is Keigan Wade Adkins, and I was born on December 16, 2009, at a mere 3 lbs., 9 oz. Since I was eight weeks early, I had to be rushed from the Naval Hospital to the Betty H. Cameron Women's and Children's Hospital where the nurses and doctors took great care of me during my three-week stay.

My mommy and daddy were also taken care of and stayed at the Hospitality House for some of the time. They couldn't have been happier to see the progression I was making during my stay. The nurses always informed them of new updates as soon as possible and made them feel at home. My mommy felt like she had her family with her every day because of the kind nurses who would talk to her and make her feel at ease.

After being discharged I spent two weeks at Onslow Memorial Hospital so I could be closer to home. Now, just over a year later, I weigh 21 lbs. and got to celebrate my first birthday, my first "real" Christmas and I'm starting to walk! I am catching up with all of my peers developmentally and am not really behind in much. I owe a lot of goo's and ga's to the wonderful and caring staff that watched over me!
