About NHRMC
New Hanover Regional Medical Center (NHRMC) is a not-for-profit health care system serving southeastern North Carolina and northeastern South Carolina. We are the ninth largest health care system in the state.
As an organization we offer nurses a professional practice environment and exceptional opportunities to grow. Nurses here have a voice and they are expected to continually learn, grow and help us improve patient care. Nurses drive improvement through unit-based practice councils and our hospital-wide Nursing Congress. We are committed to patient- and family-centered care. Nurses have been an integral part of developing new and renovated units featuring all private rooms featuring sleep sofas and more personal space, decentralized nursing stations, bedside computers and a quiet, carpeted environment.
Our Hospitals
Our Main Campus, New Hanover Regional Medical Center, is a teaching hospital, regional referral center, and Level II Trauma Center. As the tertiary care center for a seven-county area, we offer specialty medical and surgical care, which includes freestanding women's and children's, rehabilitation and psychiatric hospitals. Cape Fear Hospital is a 133-bed community hospital that is NHRMC's home for orthopedic services. It provides a range of inpatient and outpatient services and surgeries and a 24-hour emergency department. Pender Memorial Hospital is an 86-bed Critical Access community hospital.
