Surgery Residency

Surgery Residency

We appreciate your interest in what we believe is an excellent training program for future general surgeons. Five years is a long time, but residents will tell you it goes by quickly when you have made the right choice. Your interest in obtaining more information about the Residency in General Surgery at New Hanover Regional Medical Center (NHRMC) in Wilmington, NC is something we would like to encourage. We are proud of our program, our residents, alumni, faculty, medical students and hospital staff. Residents play a highly valued role in the care of sick patients within the New Hanover Health Network.

I am sure that our web site will answer many of the questions you might have about our educational content, facilities, and people who fuel the program's agenda. We live, learn, raise families, work, and play in coastal North Carolina, a place where many others come for great vacations.

Additional information may be obtained by contacting our Program Administrator, Kathy Radley. We will be happy to answer your questions, direct you to more information, or provide you with a tour of the campus.

Thank you for your interest in our program. We hope our website will facilitate your next most important career decision.

Sincerely,

Thomas V. Clancy, MD, FACS
Program Director
Professor of Surgery
