NHRMC employees donate more than $125,000 to support patients 07/21/2010
WILMINGTON – In the most successful employee campaign in its history, New Hanover Regional Medical Center employees have shown their commitment to caring by donating money from their paychecks to support special projects in the hospital that benefit patients and employees in need. Employees donated a total of $126,604 to the NHRMC Foundation’s Employee Campaign.
“NHRMC employees broke last year’s record by donating more than $125,000 to the Employee Campaign,” says Aline Lasseter, vice president of development & executive director of the NHRMC Foundation. “Our employees are very compassionate, generous people who want to do everything they can to help our patients and each other.”
The Employee Campaign gives NHRMC and Pender Memorial Hospital employees an opportunity to donate to the general fund or to a particular a particular area of the hospital, including nursing education or the Employee Benevolent Fund to assist employees facing a financial crisis or hardship.
“This was my second year working on the employee campaign and I am reminded again of the incredible generosity in our organization,” says Kevin Briggs, network manager of anatomic & molecular pathology and 2010 employee campaign chairman. “The success of this year's campaign and the personal investment of our employees underscores the ownership and dedication of the team here.”
