Ten local physicians among Best Doctors list in N.C. 12/13/2005 Ten Wilmington physicians are listed as among the best in North Carolina, according to Best Doctors, Inc., a medical knowledge firm that polls doctors nationally and asks them to identify the top peers in their specialties. The full list was published in the July issue of Business North Carolina.
Three of the ten are with the Coastal Area Health Education Center, the medical teaching program affiliated with UNC-Chapel Hill’s School of Medicine and based at New Hanover Regional Medical Center. The other seven are in private practice in Wilmington.
The physicians on the 2005 list, listed by practice group and specialty, are:

Best Doctors, a Boston-based company, surveys about 30,000 leading specialists identified in previous surveys across more than 400 subspecialties, asking them which doctors would they visit if they needed treatment for themselves or a loved one.
The most recent survey involved more than 1 million individual evaluations. Doctors are not asked for and do not pay any fees for inclusion as a Best Doctor. Each physician included in The Best Doctors database is certified or sub-certified through the American Board of Medical Specialties.
