Swallowing Re-education
The swallowing re-education program at Oleander Rehabilitation Center is designed to evaluate and provide treatment for an individual who is experiencing swallowing difficulty. These difficulties may be due to a stroke, brain injury, and cancer or neurodegenerative diseases such as Parkinson's disease. The licensed speech therapist will perform an evaluation of the swallow and provide a treatment plan which may include additional formal assessment such as a modified barium swallow, various swallowing exercises, and/or neuromuscular re-education.
