NHRMC offers a variety of options for extra support.

Employee Life Insurance

We provide employees, 0.6 FTE and above, with life insurance. There is no cost to the employee; coverage is completely paid for by New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

Group Term Life and AD&D Insurance

In addition to the amount of life insurance provided by New Hanover Regional Medical Center at no charge, employees 0.6 FTE and above may purchase one, two, three, four or five times your projected base annual salary in life insurance and AD&D coverage.

Dependent Life Insurance

We offer employees two levels of dependent life insurance. They are automatically the beneficiary of any level of dependent life coverage they choose.

Spousal Life Insurance

In addition to the Life Insurance you may purchase for both spouse and children, you may also purchase Optional Spousal Life Insurance for your legal spouse.

Long-Term Disability (LTD) Insurance

Disability insurance coverage ensures employees a regular income if they injured or become ill and are unable to work for an extended period of time. NHRMC also provides full-time employees with long-term disability insurance coverage at no charge, providing a 60% replacement of the base salary with a Buy-Up Option.
