Paid Days Off
NHRMC recognizes the need for you to be away from work for illness or rest and relaxation. We allow employees a sense of accountability and flexibility in how they use their time away from work.
Paid Days off (PDO) Accrual
PDO hours are accrued for combined vacation, holidays, personal time, and sick days. The accrual amount is based on the employee's FTE and length of service, so the longer you work here, the more time you accrue. Here are the maximum days of PDO accrual for a 1.0 FTE employee based on the number of years employed:
| less than one year |
26 days per year |
| more than 1 but less than 5 years |
29 days per year |
| more than 5 but less than 15 years |
34 days per year |
| more than 15 years |
39 days per year |
Selling and Donating PDO Hours
NHRMC offers three opportunities for PDO sell back each year. Any accrued, unused PDOs can be used for cash or transferred to a retirement fund. Employees may also donate PDO hours to co-workers who need time for personal or family illness, disability, personal tragedy, or military leave.
Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA)
After one year of permanent employment an employee is granted up to 12 work weeks of leave for reasons such as the birth or adoption of a child, or placement of a foster child; care of a serious illness of a child, parent or spouse; or the employee is unable to work because of a serious health condition.
