Mission and Purpose



SERAC Purpose

The Southeastern Trauma Regional Advisory Committee is organized for the purpose specified in Rules and Regulations Governing Ambulance Services and Trauma Systems (NC General Statutes).  The purpose of the organization is to optimize trauma care through the development and maintenance of a coordinated regional trauma system.

SERAC Mission Statement 

The mission of the Southeastern RAC is to provide a means for the region's trauma care providers to establish coordinated, efficient trauma care based on national benchmarks and current research, in order to reduce morbidity and mortality, and provide for the best patient outcomes.  The SERAC will be an advocate for the citizens of southeastern NC through the integration of education, planning, research and performance improvement.
