NHRMC hospitalists are board-certified internal medicine doctors who specialize in treating hospitalized patients. If a hospitalist is brought into your case, he/she will meet with you during pre-admission testing to assess your condition, take a complete history and list of all medications and assure you are in optimal shape to proceed with your procedure. These highly-trained doctors will follow your care post-surgery to manage any existing medical conditions and to treat any conditions that may occur while in the hospital. As a member of your healthcare team, the hospitalist is in constant communication with your surgeon or primary care doctor about your overall care in order to your transition to discharge.
