General/Trauma Surgeon

GENERAL SURGEON – New Hanover Regional Medical Center (NHRMC) and the South East Area Health Education Center (SEAHEC) of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine are seeking a BC/BE full-time general surgeon to join the attending staff with a freestanding Residency in General Surgery at HHRMC.  The individual will hold an appointment with the Department of Surgery at UNC-CH.  Active participation in clinical, education, and quality improvement activities through the Department of Surgery with NHRMC, SEAHEC, and UNC-CH is expected.

The surgeon will join four general surgeons in a general surgery, trauma, and oncology based practice at NHRMC.  Practice will include trauma and critical care coverage at a Level II Trauma Center with 1,800 annual trauma admissions.  Additional certification in trauma/critical care is required.  Acute Care fellowship desirable, as well as other experience with general surgical specialties.

Academic rank and salary are dependent on training and experience.
