At the heart of New Hanover Regional Medical Center's commitment to safety and quality are the architects of our vision - the dedicated physicians, nurses, therapists and technicians who provide superior care to every patient who comes to us. This highly-skilled team represents some of the region's best and brightest whose medical expertise is matched only by their passion for providing compassionate care to patients and families.
The more than 520 physicians who practice at NHRMC represent 15 different medical specialties and many more subspecialties. These highly-skilled and dedicated physicians combine medical knowledge with a commitment to providing compassionate care. Many of the physicians have trained at some of the nation's top schools, including Duke University School of Medicine and Mayo Medical School. Among the highly-trained staff are hospitalists - board-certified internal medicine doctors who specialize in the treatment of hospitalized patients.
Superior Nursing, Clinical and Non-Clinical Staff
As critical members of the healthcare team, nurses and clinical staff provide the foundation for care you receive here at NHRMC. From those who have a direct and active role, to the support staff who work in other non-clinical areas, each person on our team is committed to providing the very best service for each and every patient.
The development and retention of top-quality staff is a focus throughout our health system. Nurses actively participate in research on best practices and are encouraged to introduce improvements through unit-based practice councils. This emphasis on professional advancement in nursing helps ensure the best nurses stay at NHRMC and use their experience and expertise to further advance the care provided to patients. All members of our organization are equally committed to performing at the highest standards no matter which are of care they are involved in.
