PMH offers two convenient locations for most outpatient radiology procedures!

The compassionate staff at Pender Memorial Hospital and Pender Health & Diagnostics is focused on the patient, and makes every effort to ensure their comfort while providing specialized testing.

The new Computed Radiography and PACs (Picture Archiving and Communication System) at Pender Memorial Hospital now allows direct image transmission to New Hanover Regional Medical Center, Cape Fear Hospital and Delaney Radiology. This facilitates easier continuity of care for our patients. It also means that patients can take their images to other facilities/physician offices on easy to carry CDs instead of carrying bulky film jackets.

MRI

• Provided by Alliance Imaging
• Offers a wide variety of studies including, but not limited to, orthopedic and spine studies, neurology and body studies, breast and vascular imaging 

Diagnostic X-ray

• Available 24 hours, 7 days a week

Mammography

• Available Monday through Thursday 8:00 am to 3:00 pm
• Newly renovated mammography suite with new equipment
• Increased image quality
• Computer aided detection (CAD)
• Needle localization for biopsies available
• Soft foam cushions, called MammoPad®, used for each woman's personal exam during her screening mammogram. The MammoPad breast cushion is FDA-cleared, does not impair image quality, and makes it easier for the patient to be relaxed, warm and comfortable during her exam. 

Minimally Invasive Stereotatic Breast Biopsy

• Available monthly at PMH campus (scheduled with Dr. Larry Dashow)
• Outpatient procedure lasting approximately 1 hour
• Local anesthetic with no stitches offering little to no recovery time
• X-ray imaging to pinpoint and remove suspicious tissue

Ultrasound

• Available 5 days a week Monday through Friday
• Provides general, OB, breast, vascular studies
• Outpatient echocardiograms interpreted within 24-hours by cardiologist
   

All films are interpreted by Delaney Radiologists
