Chemotherapy
Chemotherapy is part of the treatment plan for more than half of cancer patients. Chemotherapy's side effects are a cause for concern among some patients, but recent advances allow our medical oncologists to prevent or control them.

Chemotherapy typically takes place over a period of time, a course of treatments scheduled in a series of cycles. With patients spending hours or even a day receiving one treatment in a cycle, a patient- and family-friendly environment is important in lightening the mood and easing the strains of what may be a time-consuming or difficult process.
The Chemotherapy Suite at the Zimmer Cancer Center reflects the larger sense of togetherness and companionship felt throughout the Center. The room is light, airy and welcoming. The staff is helpful, accessible, and upbeat. Families are welcome to spend time at the side of patients during treatment.
These are features unique to the Zimmer Cancer Center - a philosophy that connects the emotional and material comfort of patents with excellence in the clinical side of cancer care.
