Rehabilitation

Aquatic Therapy

Physical and occupational therapy staff treat adult and pediatric patients in the therapeutic environment of the pool. The natural qualities of water provide support, buoyancy, and resistance which make for an ideal therapy environment. The warm therapeutic temperature of Oleander Rehabilitation's pool is especially soothing for patients with arthritis or low back pain.

Aquatic therapy interventions address the following:

  • Improving functional status
  • Strengthening and endurance
  • Balance and coordination
  • Flexibility
  • Good body mechanics and postural stability
  • Enhanced gait (walking)
  • Relaxation

Pool environment

The pool at Oleander Rehabilitation is salt water, maintained at 88-92 degrees, and has depths of 4 feet and 5 feet. Locker rooms are available adjacent to the pool. A pool lift is available.

Community User Program

The Community User program is a membership program that allows clients to continue exercise through the independent use of the gym and/or pool at Oleander Rehab Center. Clients are evaluated by a Therapist prior to starting membership. Independent exercise, health/nutrition education, instructor led aquatic and chair aerobic classes are all offered membership options. Staff trained in exercise physiology and exercise leadership are available to assist with program development and questions or concerns.
