2014 Celebrate the Gold
The 2014 Celebrate the Gold Masquerade Gala raised a record $27,000 to fund the Nursing Resource Fund which provides vital funding to our nurses for continuing education and related research projects, ensuring they have access to the most up-to-date healthcare practices. This year's event marked the 10th anniversary of Celebrate the Gold. Over 500 people were in attendance at the Country Club of Landfall. Attendees wore masks, beads and festive attire, enjoyed fabulous food stations and danced to the high energy tunes of Jack Jack 180.
Welcome remarks at the event were made by Candace Asher, Nursing Congress Chair, Mary Ellen Bonczek, NHRMC Senior Vice President, Chief Nurse Executive and Jack Barto, NHRMC President and CEO. Cynthia Vaughan from Spiritual Care at NHRMC gave a lovely invocation for the evening.
This annual event honors and recognizes our nurses who provide excellent care to patients and their families every day. Many nurses were honored by physicians, practices and individuals though the Honor a Nurse program. The silent auction, organized with donations from different departments throughout the organization, is the largest fundraiser for the Nursing Resource Fund.
From bedside to boardroom, NHRMC nurses focus on continuous improvement of the quality of patient care through standardization of work, Lean processes, innovation, and a spirit of collaboration. They have achieved extraordinary measurable outcomes and been touched by the immeasurable gratitude of our patients and their families. In the words of Mary Ellen Bonzcek, "The nurses of NHRMC are united by a shared pursuit of excellence and by the collective compassion you exemplify as you care for our patients.”
Thank you to all who attended the event for your support of nursing at NHRMC.
