As the official kick-off event for Wilmington's social season, the Founders' Gala is the premiere black tie event in the area. The 2009 Founders' Gala, presented by Monteith Construction, was held Saturday January 24, at the Coastline Convention Center in historic Wilmington, North Carolina. The evening, as in years past, featured cocktails and hors d'oeuvres, provided by the area's finest chefs and restaurants. The 2009 event raised over $55,000 to provide funding to renovate an area of the Emergency Department and create a pediatric friendly environment for children and babies visiting the ER.
