VitaLink to Receive National Award
09/24/2004
The Association of Air Medical Services "AAMS" is the leading professional and accrediting organization for air and ground critical care transport. (Similar to the AHA for Hospitals, ANA for nurses and the National Registry for paramedics.) Every year they present 9 awards to recognize programs and individuals that are outstanding in our industry. I received a call yesterday from the President of AAMS stating that VitaLink was selected to receive the "Critical Care Ground Award of Excellence".

Definition: This award recognizes an individual or team that has made an outstanding contribution in a dedicated Critical Care Ground Transport program in the following areas: enhancing safety, education, leadership, patient advocacy by developing or promoting improvement of patient in the medical transport community. (VitaLink met the requirements in all 4 categories.)

The award will be presented at the annual Air Medical Transport Conference in Cincinnati, OH, this October. Someone will be coming to video tape our service to play in the background during the awards ceremony.

Everyone should be very proud of this award. It is a TEAM award that would not be possible if everyone was not doing their share to make this program excellent. My personal thanks to each of you for sticking with us through the good times and challenging times - Eveline Saltmarsh.

You can find additional information about the award at www.aams.org
