K. Michael Hughes, DO, Elected to President-elect with the ACOS

The General Surgery Residency Program would like to announce that K. Michael Hughes, DO, has been elected to the position of President-elect with the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons for the 2008-2009 year. Dr. Hughes will succeed to the role of President of the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons for the term year 2009-2010.

The American College of Osteopathic Surgeons is a national leadership organization for all osteopathic surgeons in the United States, involved with continuing education, certification and advocacy.

Dr. Hughes has served on the Board of Governors for the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons since 2001, serving on the Nominating Committee, Executive Committee for General Surgery Discipline, Strategic Planning Committee and the Residency Evaluation and Standards Committee (RESC).

Congratulations to Dr. Hughes on his accomplishments and this prestigious role in the ACOS.
