Library sends 7,000 medical books to Moldova
10/03/2008

The Robert M. Fales Health Sciences Library of South East Area Health Education Center (SEAHEC) at New Hanover Regional Medical Center is pleased to be the recipient of a grant from the Wilmington East Rotary Endowment fund.

The grant is for the Moldovan Book Project and will provide funding towards the North Carolina-Moldovan Medical Library Partnership. So far, the SEAHEC group has successfully shipped 7,000 medical books to Moldova at the Medical School of Chisinau, in the capital of Moldova. The partnership between SEAHEC and the medical library in Moldova began in 2006. There are 13,000 books awaiting shipment.

New Hanover Regional Medical Center is the leading provider of quality and accessible health care in Southeastern North Carolina, delivering care to all in need, without the support of taxpayer dollars. The medical center takes seriously its responsibility as an economic engine for the community, creating more than 4,700 jobs directly and another 3,000 jobs indirectly.
