NHRMC Receives National Consumer Choice Award

Area Consumers Rate NHRMC with Best Quality and Image On September 29, New Hanover Regional Medical Center was listed as a 2008/2009 Consumer Choice Award recipient. The award recognized hospitals throughout the U.S. as having the highest quality and image in over 250 markets. NHRMC was selected based on responses from local consumers who were asked questions regarding healthcare in their community. This is the second year NHRMC has received the Consumer Choice Award. "This award speaks highly of our physicians and staff. We are proud to be recognized with an award that comes directly from the residents in our community who use our services," said Jack Barto, CEO of NHRMC. The National Research Corporation (NRC) named the nation's top hospitals as Consumer Choice Award winners. They recognized 225 facilities in the U.S. The announcement appeared in Modern Healthcare Magazine. New Hanover Regional Medical Center (www.nhrmc.org) is Southeastern North Carolina's leading provider of health care, offering a comprehensive and sophisticated array of services, including open heart surgery, trauma care, neonatal intensive care, inpatient pediatric services, cancer care, advanced imaging, and nationally ranked orthopedics. It is awarded to those hospitals that meet or exceed rigorous standards of care and professional performance. It is the highest recognition awarded by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. The network is a teaching site affiliated with the UNC-Chapel Hill School of Medicine.
