CANBike Fundraiser

WILMINGTON - The Cape Fear Cyclists bicycling club is holding a fundraising event for the New Hanover Regional Medical Center Foundation's Pink Ribbon Project.

The event will take place Sunday, October 19th, at Blue Clay Bike Park with registration beginning at 10:00 a.m. This fundraiser is a mountain bike event with opportunities for all skill levels to participate to include youth and children.

Pre-registration forms are available at www.myspace.com/canbike or at major Wilmington bicycle stores. The cost is $20.00 for children and $40.00 for adults. Money donated to the NHRMC Foundation's Pink Ribbon Project will be used for 'Comfort Bags' given to breast cancer patients through the Zimmer Cancer Center. The money will also help provide free mammograms for uninsured women through the Coastal Care Van.

Media Note: The Blue Clay Bike Park is near the New Hanover County Jail. Drive north on College Road, after the Market Street overpass take the HWY 132 and117 exit, turn left on Blue Clay Road and then a right on Juvenile Detention Road.
