EMS Employee Involvement
Public Information Education Relations (PIER)
Provides an educational link to the community through public safety awareness
and education. The group's primary focus is on accident and injury
prevention, but also includes educating people on when to call 911, working with
the Vial of Life Program, and other initiatives. The group visits schools,
senior centers and special events throughout the area.
Employee Advocacy Council (EAC)
The Employee Advocacy Council consists of two members of each shift and two
members from Patient Care Transport Service. The EAC provides a voice to
field staff and serves as a liaison to administration, keeping them abreast of
the employee level needs and ideas. This is a relatively new committee
which has been well received by staff and EMS administration.
Equipment Committee
The Equipment Committee focuses on the hard supplies and hardware of
NHR-EMS. The committee assists in the specifications of vehicles, portable
equipment and uniforms used by field staff. This gives the field
paramedics input into the equipment and uniforms that are used.
