VitaLink is the ground component of New Hanover Regional Medical Center's critical care transport division. VitaLink began in 1991 due to the growing need for critical care and advanced life support transports. It began with four crews and one truck. Today, the service has a fleet of seven trucks and more than 50 employees.
StaffVitaLink staffs a team of Registered Nurses, Paramedics, and Emergency Medical Technicians for every critical care transport. Our teams transport a broad spectrum of critical care patients ranging from cardiac, trauma, high-risk obstetrics, burns and pediatrics.
EquipmentVitaLink uses four-door Freightliner FL-60's as the frontline vehicles, providing patients with comfort and safety. Manufactured by LifeLine of Sumner, Iowa, these ambulances are custom designed for critical care.
