Rehabilitation Services

Disability, whether permanent or temporary, can disrupt everyday routines.  Overcoming the effects of an illness or injury may require participation in a rehabilitation program. Rehabilitation needs differ with each individual.  Whether one diagnostic/ treatment service is desired or integrated services are required, NHRMC Rehabilitation Services offers individualized programs which teach people how to adjust to the special problems related to their disability, how to emphasize their abilities, what types of assistance or equipment they need, and what community resources are available to help them return to maximal independence.

Person Centered Approach

Individuals gain the most benefit from each program when they work with the staff to establish goals.  Each program is designed to help the person help him or herself; acting as a partner in the rehabilitation process.  Progress towards the goals is reviewed on a regular basis.  Treatment programs may be modified when deemed necessary, and as approved by the person's physician. The link between the individual, family members, and the clinical staff is vital to each individual's comprehensive rehabilitation process.
